Hello! My name is Chris, and thanks for checking out my blog, Yuppie Junk. Blogging has been something I've wanted to do for a while, after being a reader throughout the years and inspired by the likes of John Lefevre on Medium and with GSElevator, OpenView's content on Substack, Technically, and many others. I plan to use this as a forum to discuss topics that interest me, mainly topics in technology, sales, pop culture, startup trends, NYC, and frustrations in corporate America.
This first post will overview who I am and what interests me.
About Me
I began my career out of college in professional services, where I got my CPA license (Oct 2015, License No. 119210). Two years later, after a few cold LinkedIn messages, I landed at Salesforce here in NYC wanting to pivot into tech. For almost five years, I was in a closing role at SFDC, both in the commercial business unit working with NYC's fastest-growing startups and in the enterprise business unit working with Fortune 500 financial services companies.
After five years at SFDC and two in Big 4, I wanted to work at a much smaller, private tech company with a fast growth trajectory. In early 2021, I left Salesforce for Celonis, covering enterprise accounts in the Northeast. After a 1 year stint at Celonis, I pivoted to being a full-time student at Columbia Business School, where I am a second-year student actively looking to join a strategy consulting firm or an early-stage tech company as an early GTM hire.
I would love to hear from you if:
You have enjoyed or disliked an article of mine and want to share feedback
You are equally as much a tech nerd as I am (avid TechCrunch reader)
You are interested in discussing early-stage tech GTM/sales (especially PLG/PLS)
You are a student at CBS/Penn State alum and looking to network
You are equally as miserable about being a Mets/Jets fan as I am and want to commiserate
When I'm not in the office, you can find me running along the Hudson River or Central Park, jamming out to Bruce Springsteen, pursuing NYC's best burger, playing golf or skiing, going to live sports games/concerts, or reading non-fiction.
